Among these handicrafts we find wood carvings (commonly referred to as "alebrijes"), detailed and colorful tin-plate, carved leather,
saddlery, bamboo weavings, palm weavings, recycled paper mixed with natural
fibers, knives, woven palm furniture and painted wood, pottery in various
presentations: Green, orange, natural clay-like, black pottery from San
Bartolo Coyotepec in its various presentations: natural, graffitied, polychromed,
drawnworked, vitreous and textured.
Jugs, pots, kettles made
of clay, mud, any earthenware items can be modeled with this versatile
material. Suns, moons, detailed stylized figures
they all are noticeable
signs of local creativity. There are flower pots, piggy banks, nativity
scenes, skulls, skeletons. Carved vases, cups, plates, Oaxacan folkloric
